Аннотация

В статье приведены сведения о находках антропоморфных статуэток, обнаруженных на территории Северо-Восточного Кавказа, представлен обзор всей имеющейся литературы, посвященной исследованию проблем, связанных с мелкой пластикой Дагестана и Горной Чечни. Начиная от первых статей о загадочных изображениях, показан как постепенно шел процесс формирования научно выверенных представлений о мужских и женских литых бронзовых статуэтках, об их классификации, хронологии и семантике. В статье отражена полемика вокруг антропоморфной пластики Дагестана. Особенно спорным был вопрос о хронологии. Сложность установления датировки находок с культовых мест была обусловлена особенностями памятников, где клад накапливался в течение продолжительного времени. И здесь могут встретиться предметы, относящиеся к разным эпохам. В результате продолжительных поисков, ориентируясь на бежтинско-дайскую археологическую культуру, с которой объемные статуэтки связаны и хронологически предшествуют плоским и плоско-вогнутым статуэткам исследователи Дагестана пришли к единому мнению, что объемные статуэтки в основном относятся к VII-VIII вв. с возможным расширением даты до I-X вв.
