Abstract

A thorough search and subsequent analysis of archival documents, primarily in the State Archives of the Russian Federation (GARF) in the fund F. R-6991 “Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR” inventory 3 “Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. 1944–1960”, inventory 4 “Council for Religious Cults under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Inventory of documentary materials of permanent storage for 1944-1965. and inventory 6 “Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. 1966-1991" makes it possible to answer many questions related to the Hajj of Soviet Muslims from 1944 to 1991 inclusive. One of the important and interesting problems is the disclosure of secrets associated with trips to the hajj of the Muslims of the North Caucasus. It is from this region of our country that the largest number of pilgrims have been going on the hajj for almost 30 years, which is the complete opposite of the Soviet period, with the exception of 1990 and 1991. It was in these two years, due to a complex of internal and external reasons, that the situation in The policy of the USSR in relation to all believers has undergone cardinal - revolutionary changes and the flow of Muslims from the North Caucasus has reached record levels.
