Focus and scope The journal is a high-respected, peer-reviewed edition publishing the results of modern scientific researches in the field of history, archeology and ethnography of peoples and regions of the Caucasus from the ancient times to the present day. Comprehensive studies at the interface between history and culturology, religious studies, sociology, art studies etc., are also welcomed.
Our main goal is to serve as an open institutional resource for presentation of modern fundamental and applied researches of Russian and foreign scholars in the history of the Caucasus region.
Among the journal’s objectives is consolidation of the scientific community’s intellectual power to study the past and the present of the Caucasus region; to provide caucasiologists with relevant and professional information of practical, methodological and theoretical nature; providing a platform for discussions of historical and related studies, such as ethnology, political science, etc.; approbation of interdisciplinary studies results.
Format preferences. The preferred publishing format is an original academic study, however, critical reviews on relevant issues, chronicles of academic forums, articles dedicated to anniversaries of famous scholars and obituaries are also accepted. According to the preliminary agreement with the editors, an author may participate in a thematic polylogue (debate) on the journal’s pages.
